IBM Hard Disk Data Recovery Problems

IBM 5160 XT Hard Drive
I have an issue with my IBM 5160 XT Hard Drive. What I have done so far is actually connect the ISA card into my modern computer, then connect the vintage IBM hard drive to it. The hard drive does not show up on my computer, though and there is a bussing noise coming for the hard drive. I then tried connecting the disk up using a usb convertor which the computer says a usb device has been connected but the hard drive does not show up in ‘My Computer’ or in ‘Disk Management’.

I currently have an IBM M1015 Hard Drive for which I won’t spin up so I can access the data. I have elected to go through the process of using two IBM 1015 cards on LSI IT mode. I have read somewhere that the flashing the firmware code might fix the problem, but I have downloaded the firmware but the hard disk will not allow me to write the firmware code to it. I really need the files recovered from the hard disk.
