Recover Lost Asus Laptop Data

I have a laptop from Asus which was recently taken in for repairs. I had a serious virus, and had to take it to my local repair shop in order to get it fixed. The local repair shop could not recover my data due to the corrupted data. All they could recover is some raw files which is no good to me.

I am having a problem with an Asus A6U notebook which is not powering up. I cannot get it to turn on, no matter what I do. I was advised that it was a battery problem, so I bought a new battery and changed them over in the laptop. It still would not turn on. I went back to the laptop company, and they said it was the charger this time. I replaced that, and still have got nothing. I don’t want to go back to the company again, because I am not convinced that they know the answer to the problem. The main reason I have for trying to recover all this information is that I really need to be able to get data off of the hard drive which is not available anywhere else. I will do backups from now on, but I have not been paying attention for this device and failed to do a backup for about a month.
