Retrieve Data From A Lenovo Desktop PC
LENOVO K210:
I have a Lenovo K210 which is causing me some problems. I have not been able to get into one of the operating systems on my partition for a long time, and this morning when I went to turn it on, I found that there was an error, with the system saying that the SATA port is bad. I OK’d this by pressing F1, as I had no choice, and Windows loaded up as usual. I then went into the Device Manager, and looked at the drivers. I tried to view the second part of my partition through this viewer, but the Manager reported that the drive was not connected, or rather that there was no device available of that name. I did a quick hunt for it on BIOS, but again it could not be found. So I went into the computer, and looked at the motherboard. I can see that the device is connected at the SATA 1 port. I remove the cable, cleaned the ports, and then put it back into the same place. I am still not able to see the system. I need the data from the partition which is not visible.
LENOVO IDEACENTRE K210:
I have accidentally removed some of the files and folders from my Lenovo IdeaCentre PC. These files were being stored in a separate partition in the computer, I don’t quite know why. I knew that the partition was there, and was happy to leave the files in position, but after a defrag of the whole computer, I am not able to see the files. I think the error was allowing the defrag to remove devices which had not been used in a long time. I thought that this would only involve the c: drive, but apparently it has deleted loads of data, including the folders on my partition. It has also wiped the Recovery System. I can’t find these files on Device Manager, or on BIOS, so it seems as though they have been totally lost. I have tried a system restore, but only got a refresh of the c: drive, and not of the whole computer. This data is very important to me, which is part of the reason why I left it in its own separate partition. Is there any way of getting back the data that I have lost, plus all the other folders including my Recovery System?
